Taking pleasure in work

Jalema is a tightly-knit organisation employing enthusiastic people who all feel closely involved in the company, its products and our customers.

Our employees believe very strongly in taking pleasure in their work. This is probably one of the reasons Jalema has been so successful for more than sixty years. We have a high degree of employee involvement and that really makes the difference.

Jalema integrates the disabled

The Jalema Assembly Group (JAG) consists of around twenty-five employees with a mental disability. In 1998, the idea was born to have institution residents work here. After all, we had the space, it was easier from a logistics point of view and a great opportunity for the residents, in that it gave them the possibility to go to an actual workplace and participate in society.

You can really see the change in people and it’s such a pleasure to see how their joy in life increases and how much they feel like they belong here.

Collaboration with sheltered workshop

Following the successful collaboration with institutions for the mentally disabled in the form of JAG, the sheltered workshop Westrom was approached for more complicated work activities. JAP (Jalema Assembly Production) integrates Westrom employees into the factory in the same way as the JAG people. Today, they generate a positive added value for Jalema in every respect.
