Official opening new Jalema buildings and celebration 65th anniversary

On Thursday, 11 April Jalema BV and Vastgoed Webusco b.v. received quite some press and special invites on the occasion of the opening of the new company buildings and the 65th anniversary of Jalema. The conference revolved around innovation, future-oriented investment and Corporate Social Responsibility. Speakers included Joan Westendorff on behalf of the family and Vastgoed Webusco and Wim de Goei on behalf of Jalema. The Mayor of Beesel, Mrs Petra Dassen-Housen, did the opening honours in the presence of the press, invitees and Jalema employees.

The family-run Jalema is the perfect example of a company that successfully meets the challenges of a changing and demanding environment through continuous innovation, flexibility and Corporate Social Responsibility. The company has a clear vision and a mission that provides both the organisation and its employees with direction towards attaining Sustainable Distinction.

Information Management
Having started as a manufacturer of document-handling folders and systems and, later, as an archiving specialist with solutions for paper file storage, the company took the lead in digital document archiving (both storage and retrieval). In 2013, Jalema is a key European market player in products and services for archiving both physical and digital information. A number of the solutions offered by Jalema are powered by systems developed by the sister company I-FourC.

Office Supplies
Jalema has also developed into a leading international manufacturer and supplier of office supplies, especially after the acquisition of Atlanta at the end of 2010. All products are produced in the Netherlands and are distinguished for their design, user-friendliness or durability. Jalema recently added a unique form of service to this list and now offers its business partners next day drop-ship and cross-dock deliveries in the most important Western European countries. Distribution platforms have been established in France and Italy to this end.

Future orientation
Jalema has found Vastgoed Webusco willing to invest in new buildings and in the acquisition of the Atlanta property in Hoogezand. Jalema invested in the furnishing of the new and existing buildings and, as a result, has an Archive Storage facility in Reuver and Hoogezand, a central European Distribution Centre and Dispatch facility and a modern Injection Moulding Factory. New systems were implemented at the same time and the company now works with SAP Warehouse Management, SAP Production Planning and an updated CRM system.
